The Branding Process

Development Plan

In partnership with the committee and the choir, Zanlus will provide a logo that reflects the qualities that make Amasong unique and powerful: music, lesbian, feminist, community. We will begin with a research phase that explores different cultural representations of women as strong/independent/cherished figures locally and globally. We hope to draw on Amasong members for substantial guidance in this research process. We will discuss with the committee the best means of engaging members, including making ourselves available for group discussions, one-on-one interviews, and web input mechanisms that would be hosted on the Zanlus website.

Development of three designs will then be undertaken by the graphic designer. The designs, which will be more developed than mere sketches, will then be presented to the committee and made available online for comment. The Board will be asked to select one logo to refine and expand into an identity system with recommended revisions. In a second round of revisions, the committee will be asked for minor adjustments to the logo and the identity system. Based on these requests, a complete identity system will be presented to the committee for final approval.

Supplied files of the final logo will be infinitely scalable vector EPS files, provided on CD. Files will include a logo suitable for full color output, a version suitable for one color output, and a version suitable for web and digital use. Other formats and resolutions can be provided upon request.

The final logo will be the express property of Amasong. Zanlus reserves the right to use the logo as a demonstration of previous work.
