Illinois Shakespeare Festival
After 25 years of acclaimed performances, the Illinois Shakespeare Festival began to consider developing a coherent marketing program in order to increase attendance, donor support, and name recognition. This logo is the lynchpin of that program, which links the bard, the page, and the written word in a visual style that echoes some of the first printings of Shakespeare’s plays.
New Chamber Festival Baltimore
Before a chamber music recital begins, the audience usually looks upon a small circle of empty chairs on the stage while sitting in hushed anticipation. Within moments the performers enter from backstage, take their places in the chairs, and the music begins. The logo for the NCFB uses renderings of four chairs to suggest this experience of anticipation before a performance, and surrounds them with a repeat sign as in musical notation to suggest the festival’s annual occurrence.
Women First
Women First is the public face of a research grant at Illinois State University’s Mennonite College of Nursing. The project studied the effectiveness of HIV prevention education with women from various racial backgrounds. The logo needed to be friendly, empowering, and simple. It also needed to be racially neutral, and avoid representation of the subject matter of the research activities in order to protect the privacy and safety of the women involved in the study.
Seiche Entertainment
Seiche Entertainment is a video production company in Chicago near the shore of lake Michigan that takes some inspiration from the power of the Great Lakes. A seiche is a tide-like rise or drop in Great Lakes coastal water. The logo for Seiche Entertainment visually combines the natural phenomenon that gives the company its name with the pixel-based nature of digital video production.
Maryland Historical Society – Proudly we hail capital campaign
The Maryland Historical Society launched a capital campaign to raise funds for an extensive building addition to its museum. The logo for the campaign needed to create a harmonious connection between the historic architecture of the original building and the modern design of the proposed addition, partly to encourage donors’ acceptance of the addition’s contrasting architecture.
Winchester District United Methodist Churches
The WDUMC wanted a logo that represented member churches’ focus on ministry, mission, and peace, as inspired by the beauty and history of Winchester’s surroundings in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley.
